The Tate St Ives is a Cornish art gallery displaying modern and contemporary art. The gallery was established in 1993 with the focus on displaying modern art by artists with links to the local area. After an extensive refurbishment and extension from 2015 to 2017 the gallery began to display British contemporary art in a 500 square foot gallery underground gallery space.
Opening Times
Monday to Sunday 10.00 to 17.00
The only days that the gallery is closed during the year is on the 24th to the 26th of December. All other days and holidays the gallery is open for business as usual.
On the first Wednesday of each month the gallery opens 3o minutes later at 10.30.
Entrance Fees
Entry to the Tate St Ives art gallery is £10.50 (£9.50 with concessions) with a voluntary £1 donation (without donation £9.50 and £8.50).
You can purchase a combined ticket for entry to the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum Sculpture Garden. The ticket allows a one day visit to each site to be used within a seven day period and costs £14.50 (£13.50 with concessions) with a voluntary £1 donation (without donation £13 and £12).
Concessions apply to 60s and over, students 18 and over, visitors with disabilities, and job seekers.
Cornwall Residents Annual Locals’ Pass is £5. Please bring proof of address for purchase.
Discounted tickets are available for pre-paid groups of 10 or more. You should contact Tate St Ives before your visit to pre-book a group booking.
Entry is free for all Tate Members who are aged 18 and under.
All visitors travelling to the gallery or museum by public transport receive £1 off admission on production of a valid ticket at the time of purchase. This cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
You can purchase an Art Pass which grants the ticket holder seven days of unlimited access to Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, the Leach Pottery, Penlee House Gallery and Museum, Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange.
The Art Pass costs £18 (£14 with concessions) and can be purchased from all six participating venues.

The nearest train station to Tate St Ives is St Ives train station, St Ives TR26 2EQ, (approx. 1,000 metres – 13 minute walk) The bus station is next to the train station if you don’t fancy the walk. Check Trainline for train ticket prices.
By Car
St Ives is a 15–20 minute drive from the A30. On reaching the town, follow the brown signs to Tate St Ives. Please be aware that parking in St Ives is limited.
